Course Outline

Registered COSP Facilitators who want to expand their capacity beyond the introductory training. We strongly recommend that you get some practice with the COSP materials before you take this course. Your learning in the BSWK Facilitator course will be enriched if you are able to bring your own experiences with facilitation, since much of this course deepens your learning by inviting reflections on your previous facilitation of COSP.

Participants should have prior hands-on experience with COSP, such as:
Facilitate COSP groups with caregivers
Attend COSP as a caregiver
Co-facilitate with other COSP Facilitator to deliver the 8-chapter COSP program
This 6-hour, self-paced online course is available for 60 days after enrollment.

Includes video observations of skilled facilitators working with caregivers

Offers targeted learning exercises to explore relational dynamics that arise in the facilitation of COSP

Reflection opportunities to build your awareness of personal strengths and struggles in supporting caregivers and refine your skills

Exclusive facilitator resources to deepen your understanding of the Circle of Security and apply it to your work with families.
Facilitators will learn to:
Move beyond content delivery and learn to track the process in the delivery of the program.

Enhance attunement skills to better support caregiver regulation and learning.

Follow the needs of caregivers and respond flexibly to these within COSP sessions.

Expand your capacity to "Be With" to create a secure, supportive space for caregivers.

Understand parallel process and how to use it to recognize relational needs and struggles.

Recognize ruptures and make genuine repairs with caregivers.

Respond effectively to challenges in facilitation
