Description
The COSP Facilitator training distills 60 years of research from fields of attachment, neuroscience, psychodynamic theory, and child development into a structured framework to support families to understand their children's needs, recognize unhelpful intergenerational patterns and strengthen the quality of their relationships. This comprehensive training includes video instruction, live discussions, a facilitator manual, and access to exclusive member resources.
Learn to facilitate the COSP program with caregivers. Along the way, you’ll be introduced to a different way of looking at children’s behavior. Come to the training to find caring ways to help struggling families. Leave with clarity on how to be a change agent for building security across relationships.

COSP is a video-based, manualized program delivered in group or one-on-one settings (up to 10 caregivers).
The program offers caregivers a coherent map (the Circle of Security) to make sense of children's behavior, emotions and relationship needs.
Follows the Circle of Security Model of Change through a structured reflective process to support caregivers to access new understanding and apply the model to their own relationships.
Draws on videos, activities, and reflection to illustrate and practice applying the learning.
Theory and knowledge from attachment theory, social learning, family systems theory, psychodynamic theory, infant mental health, and early childhood development.
The fundamentals of attachment theory that are found in the key concepts of the Circle of Security
The language of Circle of Security, using the graphic to increase observational and inferential skills through an attachment lens
How to identify relationship vulnerabilities that impact the quality of security
Expand your capacity to Be With (co-regulate) caregivers, especially those in distress
Practice using the COSP model to build self-reflection in self and others
Learn to facilitate the manualized COSP program using video examples along with a COSP Facilitator Manual and handouts
Learn to follow the Circle of Security - a step by step model of change for parents struggling in relationship with their child.
Grow your capacity to Be With (co-regulate) caregivers in stressful emotional states.
Enhance caregivers' ability to recognize potential barriers to responsive caregiving and respond to their children's attachment needs and cues by accessing their innate parental wisdom.Deepen your self-awareness - grow your understanding of how others experience you in relationship.
Practice applying COSP to common relationship struggles and how to use the COS framework for responding.
Understand intergenerational transmission of attachment strengths and struggles.
24 hours of seated learning time with COSP Trainer
1 COSP Facilitator Manual in the language of your choice

9:00am - 4:30pm each day.
Please plan to arrive early on the first day for check-in.
Full attendance each day is required to become a COSP facilitator.
Full attendance at the training is required to receive a Certificate of Attendance. Access to Facilitator resources including DVD and online resources are dependent upon complete execution of the COSP licensing agreement.

You will find a full, detailed schedule, presenter handouts, important logistical information, and opportunities to introduce yourself and meet others in the room.
You will be required to use the course website to complete your course evaluation and assessment in order to finish all aspects of this course.
