Description

Learn how to apply the science of attachment to early education and care settings. You will explore how to follow the Circle of Security in the classroom to understand children’s relationship needs, manage relationship struggles, and support children's social-emotional learning.

Early childhood represents a critical period in human development, where the foundation for lifelong learning and emotional well-being is established. In early care settings, children must cultivate a range of cognitive skills and social-emotional competencies that prepare them not only for academic success but also for the challenges of adulthood.

The course centers on translating attachment science into practical classroom applications, helping educators understand how to create secure first relationships that create a foundation for both learning and emotional development. Rather than focusing on techniques designed to manage behavior, the content emphasizes relationship dynamics, and helps educators recognize how their own responses can either enhance or hinder connection with students.

The course includes approximately 6 hours of video and an accompanying workbook for a total estimated completion time of 9-12 hours. Educators can work through the content at their own pace individually or in groups.
