Description

Classroom coaching provides the essential bridge to educators between understanding attachment concepts and implementing them effectively in specific classroom relationships. Research consistently shows coaching is necessary for sustained behavior change in professional settings. COS Classroom Foundations provides the framework, while coaching offers the individualized support needed for real-world application.

Start your coach training by completing the online coach’s edition of COS Classroom Foundations course included with this training. Learn how to translate the science of attachment  through the lens of Circle of Security into practical classroom applications, helping educators understand how to promote secure early relationships that create a foundation for both learning and emotional development.

Included with this coach’s edition are additional video clips to deepen your understanding of the attachment science that makes the Circle of Security model of change so powerful. Featuring Bert Powell, one of Circle of Security's co-originators, you’ll crosswalk the theoretical underpinnings of attachment science with the Circle of Security model of change, taking a closer look at the theory and knowledge from attachment research, social learning, family systems theory, psychodynamic theory, infant mental health, and early childhood development.

This hybrid training also features live events. Receive expert instruction and insightful feedback, learn alongside others in a safe and encouraging environment as you watch video examples, practice using the materials, gain new resources and strategies for effective COS Classroom coaching, and develop your coaching skills through reflection and opportunities for practical application.

Our coaching approach supports educators to use the lens of Circle of Security to identify moments in the classroom when specific children’s behavior triggers stress responses that interfere with providing the connection those children most need. Through reflective coaching, educators work together with their coach to develop individualized Action Plans that move relationships toward greater security.
