In addition to COSP, I completed the 10-day Assessment and Treatment Planning training with Bert Powell in 2016. I have a counselling and consulting practice where principles and teachings of COS infuse into my work with individuals and couples, particularly in the parenting phase of life. I am a parenting consultant, coach, and educator from an attachment-based, trauma informed, life-course, and strength-focused perspective. The attachment framework and internal working models, as well as reflective functioning, guides me in conceptualizing counselling and consulting approaches with clients. I’m also interested, given my work in perinatal mental health forensics, in the role of attachment and childhood trauma in maternal infanticide/filicide. I am also dedicated to understanding the application of COS in mother-child(ren) reunification following attempted filicide wherein the mother’s mental illness was a precipitating factor.

I am available to facilitate C.O.S. Parenting & Classroom in the evenings after 6:00pm. Please contact me for more information regarding times and location.

Within the COS framework, there are various specialized groups tailored to address specific needs or preferences:

Specialized Groups: Some COS groups focus on specific demographics or challenges, such as working with fathers, single parents, adoptive families, or parents of children with special needs. These specialized groups provide tailored support and strategies relevant to the unique circumstances of the participants.

Evening or Weekend Groups: Recognizing the diverse schedules of parents, some COS groups offer sessions during evenings or weekends. This option accommodates individuals who may have work commitments or other obligations during typical weekday hours, ensuring broader accessibility to the program.

Virtual Groups: With the increasing prevalence of online platforms, many COS groups now offer virtual sessions, allowing participants to engage from the comfort of their homes. Virtual groups provide flexibility and accessibility for individuals who may have logistical constraints or prefer remote participation.

Trauma-Informed Groups: Certain COS groups integrate trauma-informed approaches to address the needs of families who have experienced adversity or trauma. These groups provide additional support and resources to help parents and caregivers navigate the complexities of healing and building secure attachments in the aftermath of trauma.

After 15 years in Children’s Mental Health, Gillian founded Full Circle Counselling & Therapy Services in 2022 because she is passionate about supporting healthy relationships (including our relationship with ourselves!). She wanted to create a safe space for clients where they could connect with like-minded professionals to find wellness, connection and healing.

Full Circle provides services to young children through to adults, and offers parent coaching/support as well as Family Therapy. We specialize in relational and historic trauma, the early years (birth to 6), parenting, attachment and neurodiversity.

Our team has trained COS-P facilitators who are able to provide material in a group setting or 1:1, providing material in it’s entirety, from start to finish, or integrating material into parent coaching sessions.

I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and Registered Professional Counsellor Candidate who has a private practice working with families and individuals to support the needs of each individual family. I host group COSP sessions at my offices location and implement the strategies of the Circle of Security when working with parents.

I work with children and families birth to twelve years in children’s mental health.
