I am deeply committed to supporting families in fostering secure and healthy relationships. As a Family Support Specialist, I utilize the Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) model, a highly effective framework that helps parents and caregivers understand and meet the emotional needs of their children. Through COSP, I guide parents in recognizing and responding to their child’s cues, promoting a strong attachment that is foundational to their child’s emotional and psychological well-being.

My approach is grounded in empathy and a deep understanding of the unique challenges that each family faces. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where parents can explore their parenting styles, gain insights into their child’s behavior, and develop strategies to enhance their relationship. I specialize in working with both parents conjointly, providing a comprehensive support system that addresses the needs of the entire family unit. By working together, parents can align their approaches and reinforce each other’s efforts, creating a consistent and supportive environment for their children.

I also recognize the importance of accommodating the diverse needs of the families I serve, and as such, I offer flexible scheduling options, including evening and weekend groups. Whether you prefer one-on-one sessions or group settings, I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and goals.

In addition to COSP, I am also in the process of becoming Mental Health First Aid certified, and an LMFT further enhancing my ability to support families in navigating the challenges of parenting and mental health. My ultimate goal is to help you build a strong, resilient family where everyone feels valued, understood, and connected.

Adelaide based Nest Counselling and Consultation offers specialised developmental and clinical interventions for children and families including mobile Play Therapy, Safe and Sound Protocol, Circle of Security Parenting Program, Filial Therapy and Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). In conjunction with these services, Clinical Supervision is available for professionals, as well as tailored training packages to meet individual and organisational needs. Training packages specialise in areas of professional development including the neurobiology of trauma, attachment, play, neurodiversity and child development.

Nest Counselling and Consultation specialises in promoting the social and emotional well-being of children and strengthening relationships within families. Children and their families can access support with the behavioural and emotional challenges they are experiencing. Through specialised and evidence-based interventions, support can be provided with therapeutic approaches that are tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.

My counseling practices focuses on school-age children (Pk-12) and their parents. I am available to work with referrals from agencies, such as Head Start, Early Head Start, TANF or family courts, after school hours, evenings, and weekends in the areas surrounding Havre.

I am a registered and experienced COS-P facilitator and work with both individual parents and caregivers and in groups. I aim to create safe spaces in which parenting experiences can be shared and the framework explored to strengthen relationships, honouring and meeting every participant wherever they are in the journey.
I also deliver Circle of Security Classroom for early childhood educators.
Programs are offered in person and online.

As an experienced Occupational Therapist, my background is providing specialist rehabilitation services to adults in community and inpatient mental health settings.

After gaining extensive training in Perinatal & Infant Mental Health, I founded The Safe Embrace; a warm and welcoming private practice, that promotes perinatal healing within my local community of Newcastle / Lake Macquarie.

Holistic occupational, psychological and embodied support is offered to individuals and families who have experienced stress, trauma, loss, or other challenges at any time during the perinatal period (from preconception, through conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenthood).

With presence, compassion, and gentle curiosity, and a developmental, relational, and trauma-informed lens, we slowly and safely uncover the complex biopsychosocial layers of each family member’s experience of this important rite-of-passage. These layers may be processed and integrated using a range of creative, somatic, occupational and psychological modalities, that are meaningful and tailored to the needs of the individual or family. A coherent narrative may then emerge; a holding, healing story, that enhances bonding, attachment, and the ability to engage in daily life.

I am an Occupational Therapist working in the disability sector. I work collaboratively with a range of clinicians including Speech Therapists, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Dietitians and social workers.
I support families/carers to have understand attachment and how that impacts function and to see connection over compliance.
